The space shuttle is orbiting earth, where it picks up an extra passenger. The only evidence of this is a camera malfunctions.

No one is aware that something “else” came back to earth with the shuttle.

Crew Chief Simmons goes about his work of checking the malfunctioning camera.

The camera begins to glow, and Simmons disappears.

The camera falls to the ground after Simmons vanishes, and lies there looking perfectly innocent.

His astonished co-worker calls a general alert.

The camera is hoisted into an isolation tank and locked in.

The lab staff is sceptical, and don’t believe Simmons’ partner’s story.

However, in the tank, the camera begins to glow.

The camera has transmogrified into Simmons.

The astonished lab crew are not sure they can believe their eyes, but somehow they have picked up a shape-changing creature who also absorbs anything it comes in contact with.

Simmons demands to be let out, and the lab worker patiently explains they need to do a few tests before they can open the door.

Simmons begins to glow, and the lab workers all look on in horror.

Simmons wife appears on the tank, and Simmons is now gone!

She tries to convince them to let her husband out.  But, the lab crew logically argues with her that her husband is not in there now, so how can they let him out?  This seems to confuse and anger the creature.

The glow begins again, and Simmons is back.  He is now angry and begins breaking up the tank.

He won’t listen to reason, so they pump in sleeping gas to knock him out.

The head of the lab goes in with a medical kit, after Simmons passes out.

However, Simmons was not unconscious, and he assimilates the doctor.

Both the doctor and Simmons disappear . . .

In their place sits an atomic bomb!  It seems that by assimilating the doctor, the creature picked up his knowledge of nuclear physics; the doctor had been in nuclear bomb construction earlier in his career.

The bomb starts ticking down from the 3 minute mark.  The lab crew panics.

A volunteer goes in to try and talk with the creature.

He tells the creature that they didn’t mean it any harm.  They were only curious.

The bomb keeps ticking.

As the bomb ticks down to zero, everyone freezes.

The bomb has disappeared, and the doctor is back.  He turns and runs from the tank.

The worker runs after the doctor, as he runs out of the hangar.

The doctor climbs to the top of a staircase, and gazes out into the starry night.

He asks the doctor where he’s going, and what kind of creature he is.

The creature asks the other man to come with “them,”, but he shakes his head no.

The creature turns into a ball of energy and soars off through the night . . .

he watches the creature take off . . .

and fly back into the cosmos to gather more knowledge.
