Union is one of the many small pioneer cemeteries that dot the landscape here in Nebraska and Iowa. In some cases the people who were taking care of them have died, or grown older and are no longer able to do the upkeep. I don't know Union's situation, but when I was there in September 2011 it definitely hadn't been mowed for awhile.




A view through the fence. At least the cemetery is fenced, which does give it some protection from vandalism.
