Mount
Hope Cemetery is located at 7602 Military Avenue in Omaha.
According to GOGS, it was begun in 1888 on a site
northwest of the town of Benson, which was later incorporated into Omaha.
It sits on well over 45 acres, and has expanded in recent years. Many of the old families of Benson are interred here, as well
as small family plots moved in from farms around the area. Also,
for the past 20 years or so, they have been the primary cemetery to offer
the county space for burials.
